The absolute beachfront, Villa Pushpapuri is located near the traditional village of Ketewel on Bali’s south-east coast. This stunning villa boasts four bedrooms, a 20-metre infinity-edge swimming pool, a splendid living & dining room, and a games room, complemented by the finest furnishings and a five-star standard of service.

Bounded by the River Wos and a rugged surf beach. Furthermore, it is blessed with spectacular outlook: across the ocean towards the beaches of Keramas and the islands of Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan, and over the pounding surf to the unrivalled grandeur of sacred Mt Agung…’the finest view in the land of dreams’.

Entrance

Guests will enter the villa through a large watergarden comprised of four fishponds complete with bubbling fountains. This delightful courtyard area is planted with yellow irises, torch ginger, and a pair of ancient frangipani trees, while the walls are decorated with hand-carved Palimanan stone friezes depicting ocean and river themes. There is a secure car park and garage at the entrance.

Living and Dining Pavilion

Approaching the large living and dining pavilion, the ocean is immediately visible through the glass walls, which form three sides of this stand-alone building. A statue of Ganesha rests on one side of the glass entrance doors beside a sparkling wall of water cascading down to a lower level. The rectangular-shaped pavilion features a marble floor and a soaring roof lined with rattan. The sliding glass doors can be opened to allow the sea breezes and the rhythmic sounds of the waves to penetrate, and the room can also be cooled by ceiling fans. A circular dining table for eight is positioned at one end.

The other side of the pavilion is furnished with two sofas, lazy chairs, an ottoman, a coffee table, handcrafted lamps and local artefacts. A small kitchen is positioned next to the dining area and a fully equipped service kitchen is located in the staff service area. Guests also have the option of dining alfresco on the elevated terrace in front of the pavilion, which overlooks the garden and the pool and the ocean, and is furnished with an outdoor dining table and chairs. A guest washroom is situated immediately outside the living and dining pavilion.

Games Room

A stone staircase leads from the living pavilion down to the air-conditioned games room, complete with an arched wooden ceiling and an adjoining, open-air, walled courtyard. The games room is equipped with a pool table, a dart board, a wood-panelled bar with six bar chairs, a luxurious leather sofa, and a 40″ LCD screen satellite TV, ideal for watching sports. The courtyard is open to the sky, bordered by a water cascade, and furnished with a synthetic rattan bar table and high chairs, together with a coffee table and chairs.

Master Suite

The 2-storey master suite comprises the ground floor master bedroom and en-suite bathroom, and an upstairs study together with a DVD room. The air-conditioned master bedroom embraces a green theme with a cool marble floor and a built-in daybed. Sliding glass doors open onto the stone terrace on the one side and a timber deck on the other side, offering wonderful ocean views. The bedroom is furnished with a king size, canopied, four-poster bed and a lazy chair. Sumptuous cushions, golden Buddhas and an LCD satellite TV and DVD/CD player, complete the picture of luxury. An en-suite dressing area presents built-in teakwood wardrobes with shelves, drawers and a safe deposit box, and vanity unit with twin washbasins and a large wall mirror. A toilet is tucked away in a cubicle. A rainshower and a large, sunken Jacuzzi are positioned in an adjoining open-air walled courtyard, complete with a fish pond, potted plants and a Palimanan stone frieze.

A downstairs hallway is accessed via a door from the master bedroom and also from an external door. From here, a set of stairs leads up to a cosy, air-conditioned sitting room boasting an aquamarine theme. Equipped with a DVD player, a Playstation, a low opium table, a sideboard, and a corner sofa that can be converted to twin beds, this room is ideal for children and adults alike. Next door is an air-conditioned study with windows on three sides that can be folded open to the breeze, offering an eye-boggling 270-degree view of the river estuary, the mountains, the beach, the ocean and the neighbouring islands. Featuring dark purple walls, the study is furnished with a desk, chair, large sofa and shelf unit. WiFi Internet access is available throughout the villa.

Guest Bedrooms

The main guest bedroom is on the ground floor under a soaring roof, with sliding glass doors on two sides. Characterised by an olive green theme, it is similar to the master bedroom, furnished with a king-size bed and equipped with air-conditioning, a built-in daybed, an LCD satellite TV and DVD/CD player. A timber deck at the front is furnished with a table and a pair of planter chairs. The air-conditioned dressing area presents a wardrobe, a safe deposit box, a reading desk and a full length mirror. The en-suite open-air bathroom features a terrazzo vanity unit with wash basin, a toilet within an alcove, and a rainshower, harmonised with a fishpond, creamy-white Palimanan stone walls and floor, and a hand-carved frieze.

The other two air-conditioned guestrooms are ideal for children. Located on ground level, one is furnished with twin beds and the other with a queen-size, four-poster bed. Each is equipped with an LCD satellite TV and DVD/CD player. Three steps lead from each bedroom down to dressing areas, each fitted with a wardrobe, a safe deposit box, and a vanity unit with a washbasin. The twin-bedded room features a toilet within a cubicle on this level. En-suite garden bathrooms present outdoor rainshowers. The room with the queen bed boasts an additional rainshower indoors, and a bathtub and toilet positioned in the private, walled, outdoor area.

Garden & Pool

The beautiful garden is punctuated with coconut palms and dominated by a 20 x 4 metre, infinity-edge lap pool that follows the line of the beach and is elevated above a beachside lawn. A large ‘bale bengong’ relaxation pavilion is situated at one end of the pool and fitted with two, large mattresses, making it an ideal spot for a massage. At the other end of the pool is a wood-panelled pool bar with a pitched roof. The pool deck is furnished with sunloungers and umbrellas. There is also a pool shower. The expansive gardens make Villa Pushpapuri the perfect setting for barbeques, weddings, parties and other special events, including open-air Balinese dance performances. If required, the catering can be managed by external caterers who have the world-class expertise to prepare a sumptuous feast in addition to the coordination of decorations, flowers, lighting and entertainment.

Staff Services

Pushpapuri is supported by the exemplary service of a carefully selected team of highly trained, friendly staff who will do everything within their power to ensure that guests at the villa enjoy a truly luxurious and relaxing experience. The team is headed by a villa manager who will oversee and coordinate the staff and property, and is available to assist guests during their stay. There is also a cook, trained in the preparation of both Asian and Western cuisine, and personal butlers who are on hand to pamper and look after every guest need. Additionally, the team includes housekeepers, a gardener and pool attendant, and security guards operating on a 24-hour shift basis. The staff are responsible for all the market shopping, in accordance with the whims of the guests. Baby-sitting and massage services and the facilities of a car and driver are also available on request at an extra charge.

Location

Quiet and safe, Villa Pushpapuri is situated close to the pretty village of Ketewel on Bali’s south-east coast. The streets of the village are lined with leafy trees; a small intersection is the venue of a fruit and vegetable market, and colourful temple ceremonies are a common sight. The Sanur-Kusumba by-pass, from Seminyak to Candidasa, has made this rural area accessible to the rest of the island and positions the villa within easy driving distance of Bali’s tourist attractions. Pushpapuri is just 45 minutes’ drive from Bali’s international airport, 30 minutes from the cultural town of Ubud, ten minutes from Sukawati art and handicraft market, ten minutes from Sanur, and 30-45 minutes from the restaurants, shops and nightlife of Kuta and Seminyak. The diversity of the island presents everything from diving, cruising and trekking, to adventure sports and theme parks. Horse riding takes place at the neighbouring Saba stables, and three of the best golf courses in the world are located within easy reach.

Ketewel village is the origin of the famous Legong Bededari Dance, while the nearby village of Sawa historically produced the finest Legong dancers on the island. The beach of Pabean was once a small port through which oriental traders brought their products; at low tide you can still see the structure of the old harbour, and a Chinese cemetery is located nearby. Balinese Hindu purification ceremonies are held beside the ocean at the sacred Pura Segara sea temple, and the adjacent reef is renowned for its world class surf breaks

Villa Leha-Leha takes its name from the Javanese word for peace, day-dreaming, relaxing, or being empty-minded while lying prostrate and gazing at the sky! It’s an appropriate title for this enchanting four bedroom retreat, complete with swimming pool and plunge pools, nestled on the edge of a steep sided valley through which Bali’s sacred Ayung River wends it way on the final stage of its journey to the sea.

Living Pavilion

The large two-storey living pavilion incorporates two living areas on two different levels.

The downstairs open-sided living room is encompassed by fish ponds and a timber deck. This breezy raised pavilion presides over the pool and garden and its marble floor is gracefully furnished with an Oriental rug, lazy chairs, sofa, standard lamp and a coffee table. A 42-inch, flat screen, multi-channel TV, DVD, CD player and radio stereo system is discretely housed within a wooden cabinet, and there is also a comprehensive collection of videos, books and games. The decor is enhanced by some colourful local artwork and artifacts; a ceiling fan helps to keep the area cool and blinds can be dropped for privacy. A guest washroom is located downstairs, just off the living room.

The upstairs lounge is accessed from the dining room, via a sliding door that leads onto a Palimanan stone staircase. This peaceful lounge is another wonderful, breezy open-air space. It features a teakwood floor under a soaring thatched roof, and is furnished with wide opium daybeds, a pair of leather Kartini chairs and an Oriental rug. Boasting a splendid view of the garden and the river valley extending to the ocean, this is a great area for chilling out and relaxing with a book. Every need is considered with the additional provision of a ceiling fan.

Work Room

An all-glass Cathedral window extends from the roof to the ground floor, and separates the upstairs lounge from the air-conditioned work room. This delightful study presents a teak desk with a computer and internet access for the use of the guests. An eye-catching painting adorns one wall, and a long Oriental rug rests on the warm timber floor, together with leather-upholstered Kartini chairs and a bookcase full of magazines.
To one side of the work room is an open-air stone terrace surrounded by a balustrade.

Dining Room

The air-conditioned dining room is linked to the downstairs Living Room by two sets of Palimanan stone steps. With a marble floor, and large glass sliding doors on three sides, the room has an open feeling; it is furnished with a dining table for eight, and fitted with a glass-fronted teak cabinet.

Kitchen

The small but well-equipped air-conditioned kitchen is conveniently positioned next to the dining room. It features a marble service counter, marble work tops and teakwood wall cabinets.

On the far side of the kitchen is an attractive water court, with large stepping stones across the fish pond. Carved water-spouting griffins create a serene ambience with the constant sound of running water.

Bedrooms

Villa Leha-Leha is equipped with four self-contained bedroom suites, each located in private thatched pavilions and each one linked to its own indoor bathroom and private outdoor shower. Two of the bedrooms boast private plunge pools, and two are supplied with music systems. Each marble-floored, air-conditioned bedroom is furnished with a queen-size four poster canopied bed, a chair, bedside tables and lamps, while bold local artwork adorns the walls. Dressing areas, with fitted cupboards and walls mirrors, lead into marble bathrooms each complete with twin washbasins, a bathtub, an indoor shower and a toilet hidden behind a teak door. Each bathtub is positioned beside a picture window with doors opening into a small private walled garden. These doors can be opened to create an alfresco bathing experience, and there is also an open-air shower in each of the private gardens.

A fifth bedroom (without en-suite bathroom), furnished with up to four extra single beds, is ideal for children.
Garden and Swimming Pool

The beautiful landscaped gardens of Villa Leha-Leha are planted with sweet scented flowering shrubs and tropical trees. The freeform, infinity-edge swimming pool overhangs the river valley and is flanked by a stone pool deck. At one end of the pool are some sunken stone bar stools flanking a pool bar with an attractive ironwood shingle roof.

Location

Quiet and safe, Villa Leha-Leha is ideally situated in a rural setting five minutes from Sindhu Beach and the historical village of Sanur. The nearby Sanur-Kusumba by-pass, which extends from Seminyak to East Bali, positions the villa within easy driving distance of most of Bali’s tourist attractions. The diversity of Bali presents everything from diving, cruising and trekking, to adventure sports and theme parks. Horse riding takes place just a few kilometres away at Saba stables, and three of the best golf courses in the world are located within easy driving distance.

Villa Cemara, absolute Beachfront – a location unparalleled. Tucked between a five star hotel and an ancient temple, the 60-metres frontage of Villa Cemara edges the golden sands of Bali’s oldest beach resort.

At Cemara Beach, relaxation, water sports and local life intermingle like shuffled cards. Morning beachcombers watch dive boats heading out to the offshore island of Nusa Penida, where upsurging currents bring mola-mola and other rare sea creatures.

As sun worshippers settle into their lounges, fisherman in pandanus hats wade into the shallows with lines and nets, windsurfers skim past and parasailors glide overhead. A kilometre out, silver waves break over the reef that shelters Sanur from undertows and crashing surf.

Now and then, processions wind across the sands as local families and communities hold ceremonies at the water’s edge or at tiny temples shaded by sea almonds and coconut palms. After dark, the sound of gamelan practice mixes with western music from scattered café’s, candles glow on restaurant tables and the lamps of the night fishermen shine beneath the stars.

Villa Cemara is available for short-stay private rental, and is the ideal alternative to exclusive world-class hotel accommodation. Absolute beachfront, exquisite uninterrupted sea views, international cuisine, attentive service – combined with the security and sophistication of a private residence make Villa Cemara the perfect location for the discerning traveler.

Dinner for two. Your private table is away – overlooking the long, white sands of Sanur. Palm trees rustle and candles dance on a tropical breeze. The sun sets deep in a reddening sky – stars mirror themselves in the warm waters of Lombok Straight. Your food is exquisite, the wine superb. And what of tomorrow? Does it really matter?

A lazy chat over lunch with friends, or the peace and quiet of your own space and time – you will soon warm to the very essence of Bali – Cemara style.

Luxury group accommodation

You, and up to ten of your guests, are invited to stay at Cemara. Each will experience personal service that is world-class. Attentive yet unobtrusive. You will judge us not only by what we do for you, but also for when we stay away. Anticipating your needs and dedicated to providing you with absolute comfort and personal service, our English speaking staff are trained to ensure a truly 5 star stay at Cemara.

A feature of every stay at Villa Cemara is the superb cuisine. Our chef will craft meals to your requirements, incorporating a blend of local delicacies and western favorites.

Drawing from the spiritual roots of the Sanur district, Villa Cemara takes its name from the native Cemara tree that shades the temple on the southern side of the Villa. Designed by acclaimed Balinese architect Popo Danes, Villa Cemara blends the traditional with the ultra-modern, incorporating facilities you have come to expect in life. The private grounds spread out along the beachfront – but you are never too far from the very heart of Sanur Village.

Beachfront luxury villa in Bali

Renowned for its bohemian artistic heritage and enduring appeal, Bali’s Sanur Beach has long been regarded as a destination for the discerning world traveller. Now, at Villa Cemara you can complement traditional, tropical open-air living with beachfront luxury and world class personal service. Escape to Cemara – the very best of both worlds.

Imagine bathing amongst scented flowers – at one with nature under the tropical night sky. The private, open-air bathrooms of Cemara are renowned for their luxury and sensuality. There are just five beachfront Villa Suites for guests at Cemara, each with its own open- air bathroom, private balcony and each with a stunning view across the sands of Sanur to the ocean and islands beyond.

Beach front Villa Suites

Inside, each beach front Villa Suite has been individually tailored. Fine Balinese furnishings, original artworks and wooden sculptures, please all who come to stay.

Relax here, ‘at home’, or wander to the beach front Pavilion, the spiritual heart of Villa Cemara. This beautiful, open-air building, with its “Alang Alang” thatched roof, is a focus of daily life at Cemara – elevated this elegantly crafted pavilion seems to float like a raft come to rest. This is traditional Balinese architecture at its best, defining yet not enclosing space, open to the shifting light and the salt tang carried on the breeze. A place to dream alone or socialize, it separates the private gardens, sundeck and pool from the vast expanse of sea and sky beyond.

Most come to Cemara to get away. But for guests who need to stay in touch, Villa Cemara is equipped with – IDD phone, fax, e-mail, printer and copier.

Chauffeur and self-drive services are available to take you to anywhere in Bali that you want to go. Villa Cemara is just 15 minutes from Bali’s International Ngurah Rai Airport, 35 minutes from the mountain forests of Ubud and 25 minutes from the bustling Kuta & Seminyak districts

Recreational activities in Bali

In between calls back home, you may choose to relax or recharge. Our staff can arrange a host of recreational activities. Sunset beach walks, reef snorkeling, guided mountain-bike tours, white-water rafting, sailing, diving, cultural tours, massage, yoga or pamper yourself with a tropical spa treatment.

Villa Cemara is staffed with an internationally trained chef and waiting staff who are able to craft exquisite meals to guest requirements.

Exquisite meals to your requirements

Each evening during a guest’s stay, the staff will discuss and agree the food and beverage menu for the following day – suggesting local favorites and dishes incorporating in-season produce while taking account of guests’ personal preferences and special dietary requirements. When the menu is agreed, the staff will calculate the approximate Indonesian Rupiah cost of the ingredients and collect this money from the guests. Each morning, the staff will go to market and purchase the produce and other items necessary to prepare the agreed menu. They will collect receipts for each item purchased and provide an accounting of their expenditure as often as guests require. As a guide, 4 adult guests will require around Indonesian Rupiah 400,000 per day for food.

Wine, beer and other spirits are available in Bali and can be purchased as required by our staff. However, wine and spirits are rather expensive due to the high import duties on alcohol in Indonesia, so it is recommended that these items be purchased by guests prior to arrival, or at duty free on arrival.

Villa Batujimbar is located in the heart of Sanur, on the southeastern tip of Bali. This four suite beachfront estate is cocooned in the Batujimbar Estate, giving it a serene and magical atmosphere while being surrounded by world-class restaurants and local attractions. Villa Batujimbar is ambience personified with personalized private service, facilities such as tennis court, large pool, air-conditioned gym, its own museum housing an outstanding art collection and unlimited direct access to the golden sand and azure waters that form a natural border to the estate.

Immersed in a rich history and set on spacious grounds surrounded by outstanding Balinese paintings, stone carvings and wall murals, Villa Batujimbar is a historic inspiration. The estate was the realization of a dream by Donald Friend, considered one of Australia’s most important artists. Friend resided in Sanur for much of the 1960s and 1970s. Villa Batujimbar is a testimony to Friend’s strong interest in traditional Balinese architecture and its reinterpretation.
Sri Lankan Geoffrey Bawa, an internationally recognized prolific and influential architect helped bring Friend’s vision to life.

The overall concept was inspired by the nineteenth century palaces at Klungkung and Amlapura. In 1975, Bawa designed various additions to the house, including a large museum building to house Friend’s collection of Balinese artworks and artifacts as well as Friend’s own paintings. Made of Majapahit red brick and rectangular in shape, the museum is set formally in the center of the compound with a moat around it and a long pool in the front.

Following Friend’s departure from Bali, Adrian Zecha, the founder of the Aman resorts became the estate’s owner. Subsequently, Zecha’s in house designer, Ed Tuttle (designer of many award winning hotels) was called in to refurbish the estate. Tuttle’s renovation gave the estate a new organized look emphasizing clean lines and space.

The next owner, international entrepreneur Graeme Robertson faithfully restored the estate to capture lifestyle opulence with the addition of a tennis court, gym and an impressive collection of art for the museum. Now for the first time Villa Batujimbar has opened its magic for special experiences, Value Link Investments presents the opportunity for corporates looking for unique Board Meeting experiences or families, special experiences.

The estate is spread over 1 hectare of landscaped gardens and ponds and made up of a number of separate buildings following the design of Balinese compounds with the kitchen in the south, the temple in the north-east, and the main house in the west. With wonderful indoor-outdoor relationships, orienting its various structures to catch views and breezes, and using traditional materials such as alang-alang thatching, bamboo, brick and paras stone, Villa Batujimbar creates its own magical ambience.

Villa Batujimbar has four generously sized suites, each with an open-plan en-suite bathroom. Two of the suites (suites three and four) are next to each other, located on the east of the estate. The other two suites (suites one and two) are located across the courtyard. The suites are luxurious, yet simple and uncluttered.

Villa Batujimbar is located within the Batujimbar Estate, arguably Bali’s most exclusive district, in the center of Sanur. Traditionally a fishing village, Sanur is one of the few remaining Brahman kuasa villages in Bali controlled by members of the priestly caste. Among its many charms, Sanur boasts some of the most beautiful processions on the island, Bali’s only female keris dance and the island’s oldest stone inscription.

Sanur is steeped in history, with some of the earliest recorded writings in Bali emblazoned on a pillar known as the Prasanti Blanjong. The pillar dates back to AD 913 and is now kept in a temple in Blanjong village, located in the south of Sanur. The inscriptions detail the arrival of a Javanese King who came to Bali to teach Mahayana Buddhism.

Quiet and relatively laid back, Sanur still has the feeling of old Bali. Ancient temples can be found interspersed along the Sanur coast. Characterized by coral walled enclosures providing shelter to platform altars, this style of temple is unique to the Sanur coast.

Sanur makes a good base for exploring the island as it is served by a main dual-carriage road that passes inland and not along the beach itself. Travel to Ubud takes 30 minutes, Seminyak, 25 minutes, the airport, 20 minutes and Bali’s capital, Denpasar, 15 minutes.

An excellent center for families, nearby, but detached from the popular tourist areas of Bali. Ready access to the Jimbaran restaurant area and on the main road to Ubud, Sanur represents the entrance to the mountain kingdoms and conversely, the coastal playgrounds. Good restaurants and massage and spa facilities are readily available in the quiet romantic environment of Sanur.
