Villa Frangipani is a peaceful modern functionally designed 3.5 bedroom villa with its own private swimming pool and garden located within walking distance of shops, restaurants and the beach in the village of Sanur.

The villa is designed so that its living area can be left open so as to enjoy the sounds and smells of the garden and its birds or enclosed so that it may be air-conditioned. The functional interior reflects the owners understanding that the villa is to be enjoyed with a minimum of fuss and a maximum of comfort.

About Villa Frangipani

Villa Frangipani is a peaceful, modern functionally designed 3.5 bedroom villa with its own private swimming pool and garden located within walking distance of shops, restaurants and the beach in the village of Sanur. The villa is designed so that its living area can be left open so as to enjoy tropical living and the sounds and smells of the garden and its birds or enclosed for air-conditioned comfort. The functional interior reflects the owners understanding that a villa is to be enjoyed with a minimum of fuss and a maximum of comfort.

Designed to take full advantage of the artistic skills of local Balinese craftsmen, the interior makes use of marble, wood and local ceramics whilst tropical plants and flowers surround the garden and pool. The villa has been designed for family living but on occasions has been used by a couple(s) who have taken advantage of the generous facilities. The villa is designed for practical living and relaxing whilst remaining esthetically pleasing on the eye.

Accommodation

Villa Frangipani comprises 3 large double en-suite bedrooms each with built in wardrobes and a desk opening up on to the garden and pool. Two bedrooms, The Bougainvillea room and the Hibiscus room each have a large double bed with separate cupboard areas. The en suite bathrooms include double basins, a bath and in door and out door showers. The Jasmine room includes 2 single beds, a separate wardrobe and an en suite bathroom. Each bedroom has substantial suitcase storage areas. All three rooms have their own verandahs.

There is a further fourth bedroom, The Lotus room, with a single sofa bed that can also be used as a second TV room or study. All the bedrooms are air conditioned. The living area comprises an open plan kitchen, with all facilities, a breakfast bar, a dining area and a large living area with generous sofas and armchairs. There is a separate area at the back of the villa that provides facilities for the domestic helper to wash and iron guests’ clothes. The garden allows for loungers and chairs to be placed in either the sun or shade.

Facilities

Villa Frangipani is set within a small villa complex that provides 24 hour security, car parking, emergency generator and has its own restaurant and bar. The restaurant has a wide and varied menu and meals can be delivered directly to villa.

• 3 double bedrooms with bathrooms en suite and a small single fourth bedroom that can double as a second TV room or study. All rooms are air-conditioned.
• Two satellite cable TV links on separate circuits both with DVD units in the living room and study. The living area also has its own stereo system with CD player.
• 9 metre private pool, with its own outdoor shower, loungers and chairs.
• In-house internet facilities and international phone access are available on request at a small additional charge. Local phone calls are included in the rates.
• Full time domestic helper 6 days a week. (8:00am to 4:00 pm)
• Baby sitting and hire car and drivers are available upon request.
• Airport pick up and delivery is available upon request.

Location and History

Villa Frangipani is conveniently located in the village of Sanur, twenty minutes from the international airport, the shopping centre and night life of Kuta and the restaurants of Seminyak. It is only a 5 minute walk to the beach.

Sanur has a unique history and here one can get a taste of the real Bali and experience how the Balinese live. Sanur is where troops from the Netherlands first came ashore in 1906 and went to war against the Balinese, who fiercely defended their island against Dutch colonization.

It was here that Le Mayeur, a Belgium artist, made his home in the 1930s. He fell in love with the people and the abundance of nature, which inspired him to paint hundreds of paintings.

By the 1960s, Sanur was the “in” place. Walter Spies, Sophia Loren and royalty came to stay in Sanur where they were able to keep a low profile and immerse themselves in paradise. In the 1990’s Mick Jagger and his former wife Jerry Hall married in Sanur in a traditional Hindu Balinese ceremony.

Today, Sanur retains its laid-back atmosphere with a few changes for the good. Many new restaurants that offer a wide variety of both Western and Indonesian cuisines have opened. A supermarket, specialty and tourist shops and traditional Balinese massage salons are within easy walking distance of the villa.

Recently, all Sanur beaches have been reclaimed. Tons of sand was brought in from the ocean to replace the sand that had been washed away. The boardwalk was also repaired providing a pleasant beach stroll. The beach at Sanur provides all the water sports facilities that are expected of a tropical beach setting.

The location of Villa Frangipani is within easy access of Ubud, the art capital of Bali and the mountainous region of Mount Kintamani and Lake Batur. The location is within a 5 minutes drive of a 9-hole golf course and two well equipped modern gymnasiums.
